Research Fase

Well its been a busy week and we have unfortunately not had the time or energy to write on the blog.

Monday:

We startede out at the school printing out all the different quistioniers and then drove to Bjerringbro where Holmris is situated.

Arriving to Holmris we divided up into two groups. Christian and Anders took care of the interviews and Jakob went around the company taking pictures and talking to the people on the floor.
We asked both employees and manegement how they saw the company and through that trying to gain insight on how the company looks on itself.

Tuesday:

We began the day at 8.00 o´clock and between then and lunch we had 7 different meetings with various Århus companies:
C.F.Møller a/s, Hartmann, Jyske Bank, Danske Bank, Café Smagløs, Advodan, SAS Radison.
After lunch we brainstormed, discussed and took notes on the different places and at around 1600 we had a meeting with Ulrik Merrild from Katrinebjerg about the implementation of technologi in the meeting space.
This was a great meeting where we got a lot of input and new ideas.

Wedensday:

Christian started the day out with a meeting at the hospital where they had a science conference and after half an hour he came to meet up with Anders and Jakob at the newspaper Århus Stiftidende where we had been invited to observe their cultural editorial meeeting for week.
Arriving back at school around lunch and then spending the rest of the day organizing the input and figuring out what we have learned so far from the pictures and notes that we made.

Thursday:

We meet real early at 6.30 at Jakob´s place where we took his car and left for Copenhagen. We drove to the ferry and had breakfast onboard. Jakob got a nap. Anders and Christian tjecked out what different kinds of music there was on Anders´s computere. It was a very long boattrip all this said we arrived in Copenhagen - The Bella Center - at 10 past 11 and we went into the Furniture Fair.
The day went with looking on all different kinds of designs. We took a lot of pictures talked to a lot of different people from a lot of different companies about a lot of different ideas.
This was a very very great day untill we on our way home got to Fyn where we wanted to find a very unsustaineble Burger King in Odense.
This was a very very very bad decision for several reasons:
First of we descovered that Fyn dosen´t have a Burger King - It burned down several years ago.
This we found out in the center of Odense and we turned the car around to find a MCdonalds. The first we found was overcrowded and the toilets were out of order.
The secound was on the way out of Odense and here we finally got something to eat. Full and semi happy we left the Mac to go back on the highway though this was easier said than done. The highway entrance was closed due to road repairs but they forgot to put up signs about this in the city and didn´t come with other route surgestions so we found a lot of small roads on Fyn that we tested out instead.
We learned: allways have a new roadmap and only leave the highway in extrem emergencies on Fyn.

Know we will begin our weekend and start working again on Sunday morning.

Hope your all well - Christian, Anders and Jakob

Big pray-day

The day started out with Jakob being ON TIME completly alone on school.... To begin with he got a text from anders who, because of praying, didn´t catch his bus. when Anders Arrived, only 15 minuttes late, a new text popped in to the inbox of Anders and Jakob. This time it was our pride and joy, mr. Stoltze. At 5 o'clock in the morning, he made a decision to lock his foot in a purse which lay on the floor of his very own doorway. the footlocking made the man fly through the air, doing a half salto, ending up in a facisal-slam into the wall. bitter sweet! from all the "acting like Steven seagaling, christian had his very own personal black-out. needless to say that the man stayed in bed today.

the two long lost and remaining persons, Ipland and Graae, made history, by being the two most well organized guys on the planet today.

We have restructured the entire project, made som add ons through fase brainstorms, more gates and put it all into the calender. Right now it is a really nice feeling to know what to do when.. that is.. if nothing changes, as it, in this KP world, might very well do.

to end todays blog, we have some more pictures for you guys!
we think a lot about you! and we really hope everything is phantastic!

Sleepy Hollow

Well as the headline says the day has been kind of a sleepy experience. I guess that most of us have the feeling that we haven't been so productive, but looking back at all the stuff we actually have succeeded in creating I guess we're wrong.

Mostly the days has gone by, having a number of brainstorms. The most important one was about getting our own thoughts down on paper before visiting Holmris on Monday. we felt, that we needed to have a clear and open mind but on the same time it is important for us to keep the "un-colored view".

Jakob has actually managed to do a lot of research and to get a lot of inspiration while he was in the "jungle" - There must be something about the Jungle, maybe this could be a really good idea. We have actually been talking about how cool it could be to have a meeting room where the walls are covered with LCD-screens, could you imagine what you could get out of it!! Imagine yourself having a meeting on the top of Mount Everest with snowstorms and the yeti around you or in the middle of the desert OR in the JUNGLE-COOL RIGHT ?? This could be the essence to get people to feel equal and inspired.

Furthermore we have also established a contact with CF Møller a/s where we will be going Tuesday morning to see how they handle meeting situations.
As said earlier we have brainstormed a lot today and gotten real far with developing questions for the employees at Holmris and what to look for when starting our observation round Tuesday with different companies.

Now we are sitting at Ris Ras drinking beer and writing todays blog..... Miss u all and hope you all are doing well

yours sincerly

Graae, Stoltze and Ipland

Day two

WOW....
The school is a pretty hectic place to try and work these days. there is a busy vibe tending to stress, as people are trying to gather the last money needed to carry out their projects. it is so nice to see people burn for their projects and ideas, and it is a great inspiration to us. we have, none the less, more or less locked ourselves up in the office to try and focus on the project we are going to do.

We think we have succeded very well in keeping focus. We started the day out by doing a brainstorm on what a meeting really is, seems simple, but it raised a lot of questions, like why are people more happy and open talking in the kitchen than in the meeting room, eventhough the people are the same. what impact does the psycological factor of seriousness have on people attending meetings, and how can we, through environment changes aid that? and so on...
This has as said raised a lot of quistions but made us as a team get in the same direction and keep the focus area.

Furthermore, we have set up the first couple of meetings to gather inspiration and also, on monday we are going to have the first meeting with our partner, holmris office, to ask questions to employees, designers and of cause the owner of the company himself. We have started to develop different ways of getting the answers out of them without them just saying whats in the script. This is something we will work into depth with during the day tommorrow as well
We have also strenghtened the project plan, and have a solution on the money part, which is very nice and very relieveing.

As we are not the least envious that people are going around the world to see strange places like the brasilian jungle.. we have desided to design our own recreation jungle, right here in mejlgade. we have, as you can see, apple-trees and bananas....

First day at the job...

So, day 1. We have taken over our office space, former team 13 classroom on 2nd floor at the KP school in mejlgade, Århus.

Prejects are more or less done, and so is the holmris-calender (with which we will try and control our busy lifes.)

tomorrow we will start the market research and collect as much info as we possibly can...
